Remainder marks constitutes a metaphor for life itself.

We move through life, picking up marks and leaving our marks behind. The marks left by life have more to do with thoughts and feelings, good or bad, or ugly. Outward marks, such as scars, testify to the covert level of inner experience.

I love books, and I love life, and everything between.

Our marks on our environment, as in person and place, range from ancient paths maintained by many feet to the damage that we have done to our mother Earth, all too visible and capable of generating any number of negative thoughts and feelings.
